Faye Butler

I have had the pleasure of working at Galmpton Primary School for 9 years. The majority of these have been in Reception class. I have a passion for Child initiated learning and learning through play. What I love most about teaching is that you never know what the day will bring and that no two days are ever the same.

Before moving into teaching I graduated with a degree in Psychology and worked in London for LEAP (London Early Autism Project) which focussed on specific early interventions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  This has given me invaluable experience in teaching techniques and learning styles. I then completed a PGCE to enable me to begin my teaching career.

I have 2 children and feel very lucky that my family live in this beautiful part of the world. We often walk down to beach after school for an ice-cream!

I am embarking on my first year of teaching, having been a higher level level teaching assistant at Galmpton primary school for the past 13 years. My passion is the early years foundation stage and I am committed to providing a caring nurturing environment where children can flourish and thrive. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and tending to my recently planted vegetable garden! I have 4 children who are all very sporty and so weekends are often taken up on sporting sidelines.
