I have had the pleasure of working at Galmpton Primary School for 9 years. The majority of these have been in Reception class. I have a passion for Child initiated learning and learning through play. What I love most about teaching is that you never know what the day will bring and that no two days are ever the same.
Before moving into teaching I graduated with a degree in Psychology and worked in London for LEAP (London Early Autism Project) which focussed on specific early interventions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This has given me invaluable experience in teaching techniques and learning styles. I then completed a PGCE to enable me to begin my teaching career.
I have 2 children and feel very lucky that my family live in this beautiful part of the world. We often walk down to beach after school for an ice-cream!

I joined Galmpton Primary School in 2016, and have enjoyed working in Key Stage 1 and 2 classes. I absolutely love teaching in Year 1 as I have a strong interest in early reading and phonics, as well as early mathematics.
Prior to teaching, I graduated with a BSc in Environmental Sciences and commenced my career in Green Energy Management for EDF Energy. I also worked in Environmental Education for a number of companies before deciding to alter my course and pursue a teaching career.
I was fortunate in gaining a Teaching Assistant role within a 3 form entry primary school in Kent. Following on from this, I completed a PGCE in Primary Education specialising in Science from the University of Exeter.
I have 2 young children who absolutely love being outdoors, so we spend a lot of our free time exploring the wonderful countryside here in Devon.
