I am in my 17th year at Galmpton after working my way up from a higher level teaching assistant to a teacher and early years lead across our trust. My passion is the early years foundation stage and I am committed to providing a caring nurturing environment where children can flourish and thrive. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family exploring the local coastline and beautiful country side. I have 4 children and a Sprocker (Peggy) who are all very sporty and so weekends are often taken up on sporting side lines and on long walks.

I joined Galmpton Primary School in 2016, and have enjoyed working in Key Stage 1 and 2 classes. I absolutely love teaching in Year 1 as I have a strong interest in early reading and phonics, as well as early mathematics.

Prior to teaching, I graduated with a BSc in Environmental Sciences and commenced my career in Green Energy Management for EDF Energy. I also worked in Environmental Education for a number of companies before deciding to alter my course and pursue a teaching career.

I was fortunate in gaining a Teaching Assistant role within a 3 form entry primary school in Kent. Following on from this, I completed a PGCE in Primary Education specialising in Science from the University of Exeter.

I have 2 young children who absolutely love being outdoors, so we spend a lot of our free time exploring the wonderful countryside here in Devon.
