Taken from previous letter issued via the newsfeed after half term holidays .....
There is no longer a legal requirement for people with Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection to self isolate. However, if you have any of the main symptoms of COVID or a positive test result, the Public Health advice is to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.
Despite this guidance, the advice on pupils who have an official symptom of COVID-19, or tests positive via an LFD or PCR test, remains the same as before half term:
Children and young people with COVID-19 should not attend their education setting while they are infectious. They should take an LFD test 5 days after their symptoms started (or the day their test was taken if they did not have symptoms) followed by another one the next day. If both these test results are negative, they should return to their educational setting if they normally attend one, as long as they feel well enough to do so and do not have a temperature.
Please see the flow chart below which shows the process clearly.
Please continue to report any absences, including those linked to isolation and positive cases, to the school office. If you have any questions regarding the guidance above, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the school office.
