Hello all,
please find this week's worships attached. Now that I'm back in school, it's harder to find the time to video myself talking through the Powerpoint but I will send you the presentations that I am doing each week for the children both in school and at home.
Parents/carers, you might wish to first view the film 'Johny and Jemima' (see the link on the slide and the notes attached) to decide whether you feel this is something you wish to show your child. Most certainly children in school have found much to discuss and comment on.
On Monday I will start again with Headteacher's awards and our new weekly bubble stars nominations.
Hopefully, you have all now seen the news around the Government's realisation that their expectation of most children returning before the end of this Academic year is just not possible. This was something all schools realised some time ago given the guidance around how provision in school should look. I can only apologise for the mixed messages you have received and, once again, I share your frustrations.
This afternoon the Leadership team looked at how we can begin to expand the number of children in school and over the next week we will be ringing all families that have one parent or carer as a key worker. We hope to be able to offer places now to all children that have a key worker parent. We will then notify you all about our capacity and how we may be able to proceed with other priority groups, particularly our Year 6 children who we desperately want to have in before the term ends.
Please do trust that we are being fair, applying the guidance as best we can and trying to juggle the many challenges that have been posed by a parent community who are mostly key workers.
Thank you for your overwhelming support and your lovely messages to us. They make such a difference and cheer the staff up so much. Many thanks, Mrs Burns
